52 years old; unexpectedly passed away with her devoted family by her side on Friday, May 12, 2023, at the U of M Ann Arbor Hospital.
James and June Kerns, who predeceased Renee, welcomed her into the world on December 25, 1970 in Flint, Michigan. Ferris State University granted Renee her diploma. On May 28, 1999, in the Frankenmuth United Methodist Church, she wed David Somerville.
For 31 years, Renee worked for Town Center Family Dental. She belonged to the Frankenmuth United Methodist congregation. Renee was a devoted volunteer and time-giver; her family was the most significant aspect of her life.
Their three children Tyler, Lauren, and Colin Somerville, all of Frankenmuth, as well as her parents James and June Kerns, also survive in addition to her husband David.
The funeral service will be held at Frankenmuth United Methodist Church, 346 Vates St., Frankenmuth, Michigan, on May 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Ryan Wenburg, a minister, will preside. Cremation will come after. Visitors are welcome to pay their respects to Renee’s family on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Frankenmuth Cederberg Funeral Home, located at 590 N. Franklin St., and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the ceremony.
