While Michael didn’t appear in the series finale , he still got his happy ending. After returning from the “dead” and saying goodbye to Jane, Michael fell in love with Charlie, a rancher from Montana. When we last see Michael he gives Jane his blessing to include his story in her novel.
The CW. After five seasons of wondering who the Narrator is, the series finale finally gave us the answer. It’s revealed that the Narrator is actually Mateo! While we don’t know any more details, creator Jennie Snyder Urman knew the Narrator was going to be Mateo from the very beginning.
